Very minimum we should be doing. What's not to like? Even the most ardent gun rights supporters teach and follow gun safety. That's all this is--a prompt for safety. If there can be no middle ground on a law like this, then we are doomed as a civil society.

Democrats are dooming society. Portland rioters are destroying Portland and are allowed to do so on an almost daily basis. Drug abuse is rampant because there are no penalties. No wonder homelessness is a plague in Blue states.

No, I'm against it!

How about making killing people such a serious offence that killers will think before they start shooting! Instead of 10-30 years in prison and supported by tax payers. How about a life for a life! Our laws on criminals are way too light and takes way too long for final decisions.

The sponsor of this bill needs to provide evidence that such a drastic measure will effectively reduce theft and crimes with STOLEN firearms. There is no one-size-fits-all solution for stopping gun violence. Above all the State needs to hold criminals accountable for their actions.

Will not help the gun violence and possibly make criminals out of honest law abiding citizens.

How is it going to protect you in your home an in invasion, if it is locked up, and you are asleep in the night? You would not have time to find the key or unlock it from a locked box. if there were criminals breaking into your home. You need to grab it quickly. for protection.

I have owned guns since I was 12 years old I am 90 now, this law will only effect law abiding citizens, If I have a home invasion why should I not have ready access to my means of protection, Democrats are destroying Oregon This law has nothing to do with saving lives, it is another power play.

rules like this only hurt the good guys does nothing to stop the bad guys. This is not a gun problem but a people problem. simply put guns can not kill someone period. it is a person that kills whether it is done with a gun knife hammer etc. none can do harm with out a person using it!!

For those of you that think there should be a law to keep legislators from walking out, just look at the vote count on this question. Laws created aren't necessarily the will of the people, they know it, which is why they won't allow the issue to go to a vote. Walkouts can stop bad laws.

There are plenty of gun laws on the books now. How are you supposed to protect yourself if your protection is locked up?

I am vehemently against it! It is backward thinking! We need more honest citizens with guns, concealed carry, their would be less gun violence, people around them would be safer! A locked gun is useless in an emergency! The problem is not guns, people kill people. More people are killed by knives!

Smart gun owners already lock up their fire arms, ammunition, etc. This bill does nothing to reduce gun violence; it just passes the burden of gun safety 100% to individuals. The government isn't really interested in coming up with intelligent regulations (like 100% background checks).

We have 100% background checks. Even between private sellers which only depends on the honesty of the purchaser and seller. Again only the law abiding will follow the law. Even Joe Biden's son lied on a background check to purchase a gun which was later disposed of illegally.

The strategic oil reserves are for times like this. We should also keep an eye on the oil companies and make sure they are not making extreme profits off the backs of the American citizens. After all that petroleum is being pumped from American taxpayers land that has been leased to these oil co.

No, the reserve is not for time like this, it is for times when we don't have oil available. We do have oil available now, and a LOT of oil available. It is just that Biden (and pseudo-environmentalists) don't want us to use it.

The US shouldn't be relying on foreign sources of energy when we have more than enough to be energy independent again. We were energy independent just over one year ago. But that ended on day one of this administration.

Absolutely! Prices are way too high! Just another attempt of oil companies taking advantage of a big situation like in the 1970's.

Bide the keystone pipeline and resume oil exploration

Explain why oil companies would not provide as much oil as possible at a time when prices are sky high. No, the prices are high due to speculation of shortage, given Biden's refusal to open up the spigot (the oil leases he claimed unused are not proven, exploration still necessary. ANWAR is KNOWN

We may need our reserves for war before this is over. Increase supply and lower costs by reversing Biden's orders and policies. https://americansforprosperity.org/biden-policies-raising-gas-prices/?fbclid=IwAR3jOvKpxrWnyT1iz2JrBflODu-aV7aHZdj_B4JgTndUI-8XFvAwXp3M1Jw

Absolutely not. Oil prices (and therefore gas prices) would drop dramatically if Congress would just reverse the disastrous executive orders Biden has put into effect restricting U.S. oil production.

Why tap into a reserve that is meant for when Oil is unavailable? We have plenty of oil available, it is just that irrational environmentalists don't want us to use it: https://www.realclearenergy.org/articles/2022/03/07/greenpeace_environmentalism_allowed_putin_to_invade_ukraine_820399.html

It's your property, you should be able to use whatever information you want to decide the sale. Say I'd rather sell my property to a local family instead of a corporate developer that should be my choice.

Yes they should. That is how I sold a piece of real estate I had. Happened four years ago. Was given a higher offer from a developer but I went with the people that sent me the letter. I was able to pick who was going to live next door to me. Have never regreted it. They are the best neighbors!
