Fund to pay people who lose family members due to an idiot drunk...on top of taking everything the drunk ever owned or ever will own....scum!

These increases will never slow or stop those that advise alcohol. The government needs to stop trying the punish all for the acts of a few. There are plenty of programs already funded by tax player dollars. Just stop trading is to death.

No FEE or TAX has ever dissuaded the consumption of any item pleaded by the government as to this necessity of saving what it's pointed at. Just padding the coffers everywhere, don't you know!

NO!!! This is horrible liberal logic, the problem is the Demarcate control freaks closing things down. The closures have hurt more people than the virus by millions. Liberal logic, a person has a gunshot wound, lets stab him with a knife and see if that helps. Duh! Democrats, shut up and open up

This is ridiculous, why punish the masses for the few that cannot control themselves. This is just another way to raise taxes in the state of Oregon, give us a break!

Noone knows where the extra tax money would go or how it would be wasted. Seems OR soulution to every problem is to raise taxes, give free stuff and not hold abusers accountable. Just tax everyone. Typical liberal mindset.

It amazes me that this never ends. Isn’t enough, enough? When your residents have to drive over the California border to buy their liquor that alone should tel you that Oregon liquor prices are outrageous! Only a drone with no brain would ask for more. It’s the liberal solution to everything!

You just increase the incentive to go to Hilt CA to buy liquor. I think there should be a tax on organizations like this offering unsolicited proposals on taxing others who are doing something they disagree with. It could reduce the number of busy bodies.

Because this is a typical bureaucrat's/politician's solution, punish the masses for the actions of a few. Perhaps the state should practice better budget management and purchasing practices since these expensive services are likely contracted.

Restaurant industry has had enough of a hard time. Increased costs of an additional 20% would be crippling.

Raising liquor prices that much will make moonshining and bootlegging profitable again. If the state monopoly cannot out compete bootleggers the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Cartel might as well go out of business. Where there is a demand, it WILL be met with a supply. Choose wisely, revenuers

Just like cigs--the addicts will find the money. How many down-and-out people on corners, begging for help are smoking? They will find $ for smokes and alcohol rather than food and other help. We need better programs and facilities to help addictions.

Oregon government needs to learn how to manage their finances better. They get the money, they have enough!! They need to take pay cuts as they are NOT DOING THEIR JOBS they were hired for, by the people who just happen to pay their wages!!!

The strategic oil reserves are for times like this. We should also keep an eye on the oil companies and make sure they are not making extreme profits off the backs of the American citizens. After all that petroleum is being pumped from American taxpayers land that has been leased to these oil co.

No, the reserve is not for time like this, it is for times when we don't have oil available. We do have oil available now, and a LOT of oil available. It is just that Biden (and pseudo-environmentalists) don't want us to use it.

The US shouldn't be relying on foreign sources of energy when we have more than enough to be energy independent again. We were energy independent just over one year ago. But that ended on day one of this administration.

Absolutely! Prices are way too high! Just another attempt of oil companies taking advantage of a big situation like in the 1970's.

Explain why oil companies would not provide as much oil as possible at a time when prices are sky high. No, the prices are high due to speculation of shortage, given Biden's refusal to open up the spigot (the oil leases he claimed unused are not proven, exploration still necessary. ANWAR is KNOWN

We may need our reserves for war before this is over. Increase supply and lower costs by reversing Biden's orders and policies. https://americansforprosperity.org/biden-policies-raising-gas-prices/?fbclid=IwAR3jOvKpxrWnyT1iz2JrBflODu-aV7aHZdj_B4JgTndUI-8XFvAwXp3M1Jw

Absolutely not. Oil prices (and therefore gas prices) would drop dramatically if Congress would just reverse the disastrous executive orders Biden has put into effect restricting U.S. oil production.

Why tap into a reserve that is meant for when Oil is unavailable? We have plenty of oil available, it is just that irrational environmentalists don't want us to use it: https://www.realclearenergy.org/articles/2022/03/07/greenpeace_environmentalism_allowed_putin_to_invade_ukraine_820399.html

It's your property, you should be able to use whatever information you want to decide the sale. Say I'd rather sell my property to a local family instead of a corporate developer that should be my choice.

Yes they should. That is how I sold a piece of real estate I had. Happened four years ago. Was given a higher offer from a developer but I went with the people that sent me the letter. I was able to pick who was going to live next door to me. Have never regreted it. They are the best neighbors!

We have a Democrat controlled legislature that thinks it should have total control over our lives even to the extent of taking away our freedom of speech.
