I tried to find the actual Deschutes County Code that regulates RV time limits on private property, to no avail, so I don't know when it went in to effect. The person of interest has been in this situation for two decades, and should be excluded from the code due to a grandfather clause.

We have most laws for common sense reasons. Unfortunately in recent years we seem to have people who have no common sense making laws. And governments that determine which laws they will enforce and which they will not based on political views.

If RVs can park on public streets, with garbage, waste, junk, etc all around them and on the streets, block traffic forever why would you limit them on private property. The county should focus on that instead of going after a a RV on private property , Disgusting to evict from private property.

Lack of affordable housing, if you are a single person with an average wage job it is far to expensive to rent a house. I know a lot of people that live in RV's full time. And I do not think it should be up to anyone but them how long they live in them.

They have no right to tell a person who can and who cannot live on their property.

It should be up to the owner/taxpayer, law abiding citizen! Squatters have more rights than owners! It's absolutely ridiculous!! This needs to change, especially in today's economy.

People should be able to do what they want with their own property that they own & pay taxes on.

To me it's just another way some are trying to stomp out those less fortunate than themslves because they feel these people and their ways of trying to survive with dignity cause them and the communities we live in look bad because they can't aford things as nice as they have. So sad.

This is an elderly woman that has done no wrong. She should be Grandfathered in because of the amount years she has lived there.

Maybe the property owner can get a "hardship permit'?? What "good " neighbor turned her in?? We had a similar problem, a few years ago. We had our RV stored on the back of our property & got turned in!! Police came out twice to see!! They told our "neighbor" to leave us alone!!

Because there are to many homeless people right now and lots live on private property in RV's because they can't afford to rent or buy a house and I think it should be up to the land owner/ rent who stays on the property with them.

There is a major shortage of affordable housing in this area. Living in an RV for many is one step away from homelessness.

The county's time limit should have a time limit. Report a problem within 1? 3? 6? or 12? months or maybe it isn't a problem.

No time limit for bums on public property. Why should there be on private property. Oh, because you can collect money from private property owners. And because Adair's and Debonehead's owners pay them to do their bidding.

It's kinda ironic that this question follows the homeless camp survey. So, if I get this right...let's limit RV's on PAYING private property but let broken down non paying RV's sit on city/county roads indefinitely? Riiiiiiiiight.

Like many others, I think a property owner should be the sole determinant of who and for how long someone lives in an RV on their personal property.

As long as they are not dumping black water, no problem. Private property is just that, private. There is also a difference between 1 RV and an RV park, private property is not a park!!!!

Is this law, or policy. Let's elect a non-Partisan Commissioner that will end this insanity. The reasons are many, and obvious.

With housing so hard to find, and for many so hard to even afford I think people should be allowed to live in motorhomes/trailers with no time limits. For some this is their only option.

The strategic oil reserves are for times like this. We should also keep an eye on the oil companies and make sure they are not making extreme profits off the backs of the American citizens. After all that petroleum is being pumped from American taxpayers land that has been leased to these oil co.

No, the reserve is not for time like this, it is for times when we don't have oil available. We do have oil available now, and a LOT of oil available. It is just that Biden (and pseudo-environmentalists) don't want us to use it.

The US shouldn't be relying on foreign sources of energy when we have more than enough to be energy independent again. We were energy independent just over one year ago. But that ended on day one of this administration.

Absolutely! Prices are way too high! Just another attempt of oil companies taking advantage of a big situation like in the 1970's.

Explain why oil companies would not provide as much oil as possible at a time when prices are sky high. No, the prices are high due to speculation of shortage, given Biden's refusal to open up the spigot (the oil leases he claimed unused are not proven, exploration still necessary. ANWAR is KNOWN

We may need our reserves for war before this is over. Increase supply and lower costs by reversing Biden's orders and policies. https://americansforprosperity.org/biden-policies-raising-gas-prices/?fbclid=IwAR3jOvKpxrWnyT1iz2JrBflODu-aV7aHZdj_B4JgTndUI-8XFvAwXp3M1Jw

Absolutely not. Oil prices (and therefore gas prices) would drop dramatically if Congress would just reverse the disastrous executive orders Biden has put into effect restricting U.S. oil production.

Why tap into a reserve that is meant for when Oil is unavailable? We have plenty of oil available, it is just that irrational environmentalists don't want us to use it: https://www.realclearenergy.org/articles/2022/03/07/greenpeace_environmentalism_allowed_putin_to_invade_ukraine_820399.html

It's your property, you should be able to use whatever information you want to decide the sale. Say I'd rather sell my property to a local family instead of a corporate developer that should be my choice.

Yes they should. That is how I sold a piece of real estate I had. Happened four years ago. Was given a higher offer from a developer but I went with the people that sent me the letter. I was able to pick who was going to live next door to me. Have never regreted it. They are the best neighbors!
