I left home at 18-19 and joined the carnival circuit. I guess it was me that wanted the adult life instead of being treated like a teen forever with "to-do" lists of chores and the endless pursuit of employment.

When I joined the military after my first semester in college. I left home and was a days travel away from any family. Independence and survival lead to being an adult.
