Most of the time they are feral. I think if you have a stray you should call animal control and let them know...if all else fails then yes feed...but try to capture and take them to a no kill shelter.

if you feed them you will end up with many cats at your door, Feral cats have never been to a Vet( sad to say) I don't want them near my children or my dogs Please just call a NO KILL SHELTER

If you feed the stray cats, they will never go away and simply breed more feral cats.

You aren't really doing them a favor. They will just jave more kittens and then the amount of strays increases. Better to have them picked up and taken to a no kill place.

Done that and was surprised that the animal catcher brought them back into the neighborhood they said that they gave them there shots a had them fixed
This both a "yes" and a "no" for me. The strays I have fed were kittens and I kept them as indoor-only pets for the rest of their lives. Otherwise, I don't feed a growing stray/feral problem.

Can't let it starve. Plus hanging around our barnyard, they will catch rodents that get into the feed.
ReplyImagine that your the cat. We all need a little help sometimes. Cats are pretty resourceful at finding food. I would be more worried about a stray dog trying to find enough food to survive.
ReplyThey are worth every kindness. Humans who cannot be kind to animals cannot be kind to each other. I feed strays all the time and try to find safe loving places for them to go.

ReplyA feral cat came with our house. We fed it and the kitty is no longer feral. She is now our pet.
ReplyWe domesticated them, were responsible for their care. If everyone took care of Their cats and had them fixed then this wouldn't be an issue
ReplyThere's about 7 strays in our complex & we started feeding them in he fall. They're all "fixed" except for the one that was born in '19, which 1 guy @ the complex was doing out of his own $.
