I lost 20 pounds dieting and the old clothes fit again.

Absolutely! My closet is divided by weight, then season, then colors. Far right = fatter Far left = thinner. Clothes I don't fit are grouped in dry-cleaning bags with a tag indicating weight for best fit. I'm working my way to the left now that spring is around the corner! Totally can be done!
