I have been a rancher for over 52 years. I butcher my own steers after I raise and give them the best feed available in order to make sure I have excellent quality meat. I butcher two each year for my family and my kids families as a Christmas present to them.

Heck no! I've rebalanced which meats though, by eating more chicken and pork, and eating steak only twive a week. I feel much better when I eat lots of meat and lean red meat like Porterhouse steak is scrumptious!!

As I get older, I enjoy meat less. I dislike the feel of raw meat, so preparing it is distasteful to me. Most importantly, though, is the impact the impact meat producing has on our environment.
ReplyI have learned valuable lessons on reasons for not eating meat.
ReplyMy husband is allergic to beef. Since we're retired and mostly eat at home, the only time I eat beef is when we rarely go out for a meal.
ReplyCompared to decades ago. Now mostly chicken and pork products and comparatively little beef. I include a whole lot of plant based nutrition in my diet.
