Should start between 10&13, this lack reflects our inability to communicate & conduct business with countries in their language. I learned 2 English & German from10 -13.

As an all knowing child I was so happy that I did not have to learn a 2nd language-Have been forever sorry that I missed the opportunity of a lifetime to expand my horizons throughout my life.

Learning a second language early in life helps form the brain for later better learning. I think the US should encourage a second language starting in 1st grade.

I believe the younger you are the easier it is to learn a different language and on the West Coast we should learn Spanish

"Required?" I'm not so sure, But if the parents want them too, the younger the better. Children brought up in bi-lingual households easily pick up both languages. It informs the brain. No downside.

Sign language at the least should be offered in all public schools.

I was teaching my daughter German at 5 and 6. Well known child psychologist told me to stop, as it would confuse her learning English grammar in school.

The state refused to keep people and businesses safe. Someone needed to step in.

They have the right to demonstrate but they do not have the right to damage or destroy. Apparently local enforcement couldn't handle it. Stop it asap

Trump is agitating the situation. If Gov Newsom had thought it necessary he would have called them in. It was not Trump’s decision to make. Trump is merely trying to take over California because it is a mainly democratic state and he considers its citizens enemies
