Unlike last year, a very favorable schedule. If NU wins the games it should, it only has to win 1 of 4 against the tougher opponents (Northwestern, Ohio State, Iowa, Wisconsin). I like those chances.

attitude and preparation are favoring the team. In addition if the team takes inspiration from Coach DeWitt and his personal; challenges off the field then look out.

I'd think 7-8 games is more reasonable but the favorable schedule gives them a win or two.

Darrion Daniels is the reason why we get to 9. Before his transfer announcement, I had us at 7. This young man will make THAT much difference. He will allow the ends to get in the backfield.

It's a reasonable expectation for this season. The Schedule is much better than last year and the evidence from the second half of the season is ample that a major improvement should be expected. GBR

The schedule and a better D. They lost five games under 5 points last year. This year will be much different. Go Big Red!

Great QB, improved defensive play.

The first 4 games are key. Not only wins but some convincing victories will go a long way towards scoring an upset along the way. Anything less than 8 wins would be a disappointment. 10 wins is doable

I love this university and all of it's student/athletes/coaches/instructors. I feel this team is on the right path. Keep hopes high but know that growing pains will still rear their ugly heads. GBR

I’m not sure about the depth of the team overall just yet.

Lack of experience in O line, lack of running back and wide receiver depth and big questions still remain on D. I see them at 5-7 or 6-6. Jack, Omaha, NE

Things look very promising, but I'm not ready to ramp up my expectations until we see the results on the field this season. GBR!!

We will be better but the team is so young. I think 6-7 wins is where we land. I hope we get nine, just don't want to get my hopes up. Just beat Iowa!!

Young players, miscues, inexperience. 7-8 wins.

The staff walked into a mess. I expect improvement...but 9 wins is out there but it will be tough.

Not enough depth to reasonably win 9+ games. We'll need outstanding discipline and execution with precious few injuries to have a shot at 9+.

Unknown commodity or lack of depth at way too many positions including RB, WR, OL, and LB.

Do you think Trev Alberts was correct to push for the coaching staff changes before season end?

It was right to do sooner than later

Should have waited until season was over

The defense has made progress. The offense not so much. The real problem is Frost's dedication to Martinez. Adrian is a great guy, but his minuses exceed his pluses.

The production was there from those coaches. Better to make the decision then, so you can still have a positive impact with recruiting.

I imagine the transfer portal had a lot to do with the timing.

The team was not going to become better with their existing staff. Make the cut and start improving.

If you are not going to make new hires before the end of the season anyway, what was the purpose in firing them now? It will be interesting to see how the offense performs, but I can't see this as beneficial.
