RB's yards harder and harder to come by , with the proliferation of spread offenses someone else will break 200 catches

Husker passing has typically been kind of lackluster, running backs have been the tradition. A Junior receiver at U. of Oregon could probably break our receiving record.

Look how long it took for anyone to get this close to breaking Rozier's career rushing mark, 31 years. Think about this, Who was the only other Husker RB that not only lead the Nation in rushing but also lead the nation in all purpose yards in that same year. Answer? The man who's 31 yr old Rushing record that Abdullah will break this year. Think about all of the great Husker RB's we've had since Rozier and no one has been closer than Abdullah. It took this long. Ameer is very special player and I think I can speak for alot of us older NU fans when I say this is a record we have waited for to be broken. Also in these at least last 6 games Ameer has a chance to break or tie Rozier's Career rushing TD mark which stands at 51 and Abdullah is at 37 as of now, Ameer is closing in on the majority of Rozier's records. Ameer as well only needs 12 more Rushing TD's tie Rozier's record of a once NCAA record 29. Ameer has already bested Rozier's YPC mark. Last Ameer only needs 800 and some change yards to pass Ron Dayne's BIG and NCAA All Purpose Yards record. You wanna know who the best RB in NU history is? He's finishing his senior season as we speak. I read Rozier's profile and reading it Ameer mirrors it. What's amazing is Ameer has done what he has in basically the same amount of time as it took Rozier to do it and it helps when you have 3 consecutive 1000 yard rushing seasons, a feat no other RB in NU history has ever been able to accomplish. One last thing to think about is, All of the other Husker greats had far, far better lines than Ameer....GO BIG RED!!!!

Offenses are passing more than they used to while Ameer's record is nearing a conference record, not just a team record.

Do you think Trev Alberts was correct to push for the coaching staff changes before season end?

The defense has made progress. The offense not so much. The real problem is Frost's dedication to Martinez. Adrian is a great guy, but his minuses exceed his pluses.

The production was there from those coaches. Better to make the decision then, so you can still have a positive impact with recruiting.

I imagine the transfer portal had a lot to do with the timing.

It had to be done and it clear that things are going to happen at NU.

The team was not going to become better with their existing staff. Make the cut and start improving.

If you are not going to make new hires before the end of the season anyway, what was the purpose in firing them now? It will be interesting to see how the offense performs, but I can't see this as beneficial.
