We have a stud QB and big name Defensive coordinator. Think 2003 but with a better offense. That and someone had to vote over here.

At this point it would require a miracle. Too many pieces of the puzzle missing.

Nebraska needs a unique offense and a tough defense. Not a vanilla prostyle offense.

Riley has yet to win anything of value as a head coach in American football. I would be surprised if his regular season record at Nebraska after 2018 is 29-19 or better.

I really think the current coach Riley is too comfortable with losing. He is a great person, and is knowledgeable, but a winner wins - look at what Harbaugh has done at Michigan in the same mount of time. We will see.

Because we get out-recruited year after year. NU is just another team these days. The sellout record is all that's left of a once great program. That will end soon as well.

The good news is Neb always has the schedule to win a national championship. But they must stop doing the same things in terms of recruiting, facilities, and coaching expecting different results. I love their recruiting now but there are many facits to success.

I feel we are headed in the right direction, but we will need 2-3 years to get there. I expect only 7-9 wins this coming season.

we might compete in some years, and fall off in other years. to me elite means year in and year out, and that won't ever happen. fan base and admin won't allow for a 25 year tenure in coaching any more....

It's a process. We are on our way in the right direction with Riley and Co. at the helm. It all starts with the return on Blackshirt-caliber defense.

Do you think Trev Alberts was correct to push for the coaching staff changes before season end?

It was right to do sooner than later

Should have waited until season was over

The defense has made progress. The offense not so much. The real problem is Frost's dedication to Martinez. Adrian is a great guy, but his minuses exceed his pluses.

The production was there from those coaches. Better to make the decision then, so you can still have a positive impact with recruiting.

I imagine the transfer portal had a lot to do with the timing.

It had to be done and it clear that things are going to happen at NU.

The team was not going to become better with their existing staff. Make the cut and start improving.

If you are not going to make new hires before the end of the season anyway, what was the purpose in firing them now? It will be interesting to see how the offense performs, but I can't see this as beneficial.
