If they would have had replay, the pass to McCloskey would have been ruled no catch. No first down, no ball on the 5.

Will always be the nightmare of the missed call till the day I die.

They were both robbery on the refs part but the receiver for Penn state was no where near catching that pass inbound. It was clearly out of bounds and really showed the referees favoritism toward Penn

This was a 4th & 1 play. If they make the right call Tom got his first NT. Nope..... this one burns worse.

Huskers still could have won 94 Orange Bowl. Bad call was early in the game. 82 PSU was right at the end.

Just piggybacking on this reply... there should be a 3rd choice: the Texas game in the Suh era when the refs put 1” back on the clock so Texas could kick the winning field goal.

Better than the crappy “alternative” uniforms.

6 of one, half dozen of the other... BOTH calls were HORRIBLE. Easy to make the correct call....IF you're paying attention to your responsibilities.

Nat Championship on the line. In addition there was a phantom PI call in the last minutes that gave them the field position to make their last field goal.

I remember watching this game, and being devastated watching Florida state celebrate at the end of the game, the better team certainly did not win that game.

I'm still burning about that one! But that game is what started my burning passion for Big Red!

The 94 Orange Bowl because there was more than one that literally lost the game for us and it was for the National Championship.

It wasn't just 1 call. The FSU TD that was a fumble; the Nebraska fumble that was a TD; the phantom penalty on Dixon's punt return TD; almost every penalty after the Huskers' last FG. It felt fixed.

Do you think Trev Alberts was correct to push for the coaching staff changes before season end?

It was right to do sooner than later

The defense has made progress. The offense not so much. The real problem is Frost's dedication to Martinez. Adrian is a great guy, but his minuses exceed his pluses.

The production was there from those coaches. Better to make the decision then, so you can still have a positive impact with recruiting.

I imagine the transfer portal had a lot to do with the timing.

It had to be done and it clear that things are going to happen at NU.

The team was not going to become better with their existing staff. Make the cut and start improving.

If you are not going to make new hires before the end of the season anyway, what was the purpose in firing them now? It will be interesting to see how the offense performs, but I can't see this as beneficial.
