to keep the 'winning streak" of bad decisions of the last 20 years continuing!! Goodby Mr. Riley.

3 years not enough time. Won't find better coaching experience. Won't find better overall package.

As much as I liked Riley it seemed clear that the program was falling apart and not headed in the right direction. I cannot believe that another few years would have really made a difference.

Riley was a good man. A nice man. But, none of that seemed to transfer to a winner. Since I was a freshman in high school (1958) has the program looked this morbid.

He shouldn't have been given a 2nd season. He hi-jacked our football program, a total fraud.

There is no way Moos could have sold a 4th year to the NU fan base, even if he had wanted to. I mean 4-8 in your 3rd year?? I think this was already done, unofficially, when Eichorst was let go!

Coach Reilly is a great guy, level head. But his team lacked passion and fire. You never knew whether or not they were going to come out of the locker room. You could see it in the body language of the players, they were defeated from the first game.

He should not have been given a third season. No energy. No communication with his coaches, players, or the fans. Definitely a duck out of water. Hopefully, they will take him back and reduce our buy-out.

You need a reason? Really? This "nice" guy cannot coach football, period! Hey, I've been called a nice guy, but that doesn't make me the expert at what I may have done in the past! Sadly, MR has proven, once again, "nice" guys finish last!! Go figure!

At the beginning of the season I was thinking he should, with a new coordinator and all. As the season went on though, there was no improvement and no fire from him or the players. He needed to go.

The team had lost their desire to win and didn't even seem to want to be on the field. It was time for Mike to go.

I lost respect for Riley yesterday saying he should be allowed to come back. It is okay to be a nice guy, but I have a problem with delusionally nice. How low does the guy want to sink the program?

Yeah, I had the same reaction: delusional, at best! You would have to be in self denial to think you should come back, after having the worst record at Nebraska, since forever!!

A 4 win season is not good enough. His team is worse this year than the first year. Should he be given another couple of years, maybe he could turn things around. Nebraska fans are not that patient. The coaching job at Nebraska is a tough one, but that is how it is.

Mike Riley is a class act. I wanted him to succeed at Neb. But his program was going in the wrong direction, and at $2M/yr that is liability NU cannot afford. Thank you for restoring dignity to NU.

I really like Mike Riley because he was that calm person needed in any situation. I believe he tried to make Nebraska a better program. Unfortunately, it didn't translate on the field. I wish him and his family the best.

When we are going down hill every season then Mike Riley was not the man for the jog. Though I liked him and his professionalism, he was not the right man for Nebraska and the type of players we recruit.

I saw no improvement year over year. As nice a guy Riley is, he was not the right guy for Nebraska. 50/50 coach wins only 50% of his games. In his time as a Husker he is 19-19. Right on schedule.

Mid season I was for giving him one more season, but the performances from OSU on have been steadily worse and it's obvious he isn't recognizing that he and his staff are not developing linemen effectively, and are not bringing conditioning, discipline, toughness or heart to the program.

The guy is very personable, but you're the HC (CEO) of the football team and you must deliver a quality product. The days of patience are over. Turn the page, trust in the AD to do his job to produce a quality product or he'll be let go too. It's the sate of big business NCAA football.

sub 500 in your third year is a big red flag. I liked him and believed in him, until halfway through this year. When Diaco's defense couldn't stop anyone I knew it was over, whether he fired the O-line coach or not.

No progression toward a division, let alone conference title. No adjustments. No improvements. It seems like we should have been more competitive both last year and this year. Langsdorf, Cavanaugh and Diaco were bad hires.

MR&Inc were amazing Backfield recruiters, the best we ever had, but they could not 'coach up' existing (good) talent. You have to have great recruiting and great coaching to be relevant in Big10. I was pissed we went after MR with his record instead of SF, post BP. Told SF not ready yet. Ready now.

Nebraka? Sadly I agree with the Moos decision. Good recruiting but that was about it. His QB who passed at 54% completion rate did not improve. He hired a Connecticut guy as a DC and was surprised at the result.

Do you think Trev Alberts was correct to push for the coaching staff changes before season end?

The defense has made progress. The offense not so much. The real problem is Frost's dedication to Martinez. Adrian is a great guy, but his minuses exceed his pluses.

The production was there from those coaches. Better to make the decision then, so you can still have a positive impact with recruiting.

If you are not going to make new hires before the end of the season anyway, what was the purpose in firing them now? It will be interesting to see how the offense performs, but I can't see this as beneficial.
