ESPN is a joke. I've lost all respect for (s)E(c)SPN. Don't watch them, don't visit their web site, don't really care what they do, or where they rank the 'Skers.

The "culture" of Nebraska Football has already started to change for the better with Scott Frost & Crew at the helm. More personal accountability and true competition for playing time has been lacking for a long time. That will change this season.

ESPN will pay dearly for their low Nebraska rating!

Not worried. The ranking means nothing. When the play on the field proves otherwise, the ranking will change. GBR!

I believe that ESPN and their preseason ranking of the Huskers is because they are looking at the past and not the future of this great program. GBR Steve Walker, a TRUE Husker fan in VOL country.

ratings doesn't mean anything until they play. Hopefully the cornhuskers will get back to being dominate in college football.

Actually, I don't give a hoot about ESPN and their FPI rating. I want to see the Big Red Machine take to the field this fall and WIN football games. Win/loss record, that the stat that counts.

I did want to say lower, but I think it's fair. There are so many unknowns at this point. how do you rank a team that hasn't played?

There are to many unknowns. Most of the rating is because of last years poor showing and new coaching staff. N will win at least 8 this year. Only the schedule and new system will prevent them from winning the west div this year.

A better team with better coaching... but the tough schedule will mask improvements. Look to 2019 instead.

you can't go from the outhouse at 4-8 to a middle of the row seat, things have to be proven and earned first, no gimmes

Do you think Trev Alberts was correct to push for the coaching staff changes before season end?

It was right to do sooner than later

The defense has made progress. The offense not so much. The real problem is Frost's dedication to Martinez. Adrian is a great guy, but his minuses exceed his pluses.

The production was there from those coaches. Better to make the decision then, so you can still have a positive impact with recruiting.

I imagine the transfer portal had a lot to do with the timing.

The team was not going to become better with their existing staff. Make the cut and start improving.

If you are not going to make new hires before the end of the season anyway, what was the purpose in firing them now? It will be interesting to see how the offense performs, but I can't see this as beneficial.
