Bo Just needs the team to play well at Iowa. Be competitive. Bo does need to hire new coordinators to keep his job though. One more thing, can we please get a microphone to the reporters asking the questions at the press conferences? Doesn't seem like that would be too difficult. The answers loose a little bit without hearing the question.

Seriously? You remember Bill Callahan? Do you remember how Dr. Tom couldn't make everyone happy with 9 win seasons? Now.....what is the perception of him? Nebraska fans have been sooooo spoiled (myself included), give Pelini time.

Really???!!!, Bo's had 7 years. How much time do you think he needs? The Huskers lose and NFL RB and NFL DE to the pros next year. Enough is enough. Take a look at Osborne's record over his coaching career. See many blowouts???
First of all, Nebraska can not afford the kind of coach to take them to the promise land. The landscape of college football has changed so much in recruiting, conference changes, and play calling. Allow Bo to adjust and make the kind of changes he needs to do. Do you really want to get another flop like Bill Callahan in here? Stick with Bo, he's closer than ;you think of putting together a championship season. Would be nice if they could GTFO of the Big 10 also. This conference stinks and doesn't attract the kind of recruits needed to compete against the calibers of the SEC and the Big 12.

I can't imagine Nebraska firing him after we let Bill Callahan hand us 2 losing seasons. I think at the most, the AD would "suggest" that he seek out better Assistants such as OC and DC changes. Papuchis shows flashes of "getting it", but then reverts to Craig Bohl and Kevin Cosgrove type performances. If the kids aren't getting it, or consistently doing the wrong things, it HAS to be coaching.

If Bo could put on the HC and DC caps and get Scott Frost as the OC, I think we'd start in the right direction. Bo has proven to be a great defensive-minded coach and Frost has more than proven his worth as an OC at Oregon...bring that National Champ back home and let him run the offense.
Whether he wins or loses on Friday doesn't much matter to me. I'll watch because I love Big Red football for what it was and not for what it has become. The only thing that will get me remotely excited is if the OC & DC, plus a couple of other coaches are replaced, which should have been done last year. But at this point if Bo gets canned, so be it. I really don't care to listen about the process and lack of execution any longer. It's all words resulting in very little action.

No, I doubt Eichorst will fire him. However, it could be a different story if the Huskers get blown out in their final 2 games. That would be proof Pelini has lost this team.

Bo has the kind of passion and recruiting skills that has and is bringing up our talent level. His weakness is his DC and OC and one or both should be a condition to him staying. The players don't seem to be improving as the season goes on and thats the hands on coaches fault. If Bo is smart he will replace both to upgrade his staff. Frost OC and Muschamp DC and well skyrocket into National prominence.

I agree. Bo had his shot. Remember Bo sympathizers, he's getting paid multiple millions for this job and had 7 years to make it happen. 7 X 3 million/year = 21 millions bucks. He'll do fine......
I am voting no, simply because I don't think Eichorst has the cajones to fire Bo.

It was like the article said too many forgettable wins and absolutely embarrassing losses. That culture is part and parcel of what we are now and I do believe that falls to the coaching staff they set culture and kids play for each other and coach. Three losses in a row is too much

ReplyA high dollar football program should produce 10 wins a year. If they don't they are cheating the fans, the school, and the players. Bo is not striving for excellence. If he is he is not getting close and UNL should find a coach who does know how to reach excellence. Everything else will fall into place.

ReplyAnother 9-4 season is not going to cut it for the Husker faithful. I will say I was excited when Bo took the reins and the immediate improvement on defense. We have reached a plateau and firmly entrenched in the "also ran" column in the national picture. I have reached the conclusion Bo is not the one to bring us back to national prominence.

ReplyThe Huskers have no identity. ..Both sides of the ball since having to play quality football teams. ...If the team blew as much steam and attitude like bo does they'd be National title contenders. .
