Because all of the players will get more reps.

just makes sense from a coaching aspect. you can't watch that many players at one time and have them show you what they've got.

only makes sense., to get a close look at the players....he also stated that it would only be for part of spring practice

I think it is a great way of getting everyone practicing and not just standing around watching. The coaches get a better chance of developing players.

Again, each plaayer will get a better chance to be seen by the coaching staff. This is how walk-ons get noticed.

Not sure if it matters if we like it or not...he is the coach. With that said, I do like the his reasoning behind it.

I thought Osborne run a format where he would have multiple stations similar to what Riley is trying to do

Players need reps and coaching and this will give it to them. More buy in more motivation.

I remember when Coach Osborne took over as AD, and watched one of Bill Callahan's practices. He said, he saw a bunch of guys just standing around just watching. Hint hint Bill, that's not good. No surprise he fired Callahan.

There is not one D 1 program who has tried this and was successful. It makes coaches do too much after hours evaluation to the point that they are just remember big highlights on players instead of the whole body of work. Additionally the questions on these polls are very weak, I actually get angry each time you have one posted

I don't see why they don't use the same basic practice routine as Osborne did. NE has many more players at practice than virtually anyone else due to our walk on program. No one "stood around" much at Osborne's practices. He has made the point in his books that the large number of players due to walkons was a significant advantage in that they could have multiple stations going at the same time. By splitting up into Team Red and Team white a bunch of starters are not going to get any practice time with the other starters that they will actually be on the field with this fall.

Do you think Trev Alberts was correct to push for the coaching staff changes before season end?

It was right to do sooner than later

Should have waited until season was over

The defense has made progress. The offense not so much. The real problem is Frost's dedication to Martinez. Adrian is a great guy, but his minuses exceed his pluses.

The production was there from those coaches. Better to make the decision then, so you can still have a positive impact with recruiting.

I imagine the transfer portal had a lot to do with the timing.

The team was not going to become better with their existing staff. Make the cut and start improving.

If you are not going to make new hires before the end of the season anyway, what was the purpose in firing them now? It will be interesting to see how the offense performs, but I can't see this as beneficial.
