He did it all and minus a really bad call, he might have earned a national championship.

It was a great call. The reciever dropped it, although it could've been a better throw, and the reciever was open. It was an execution failure not a bad play call.

Is this a serious poll? It’s not even debatable. Turner Gill lost 2 games by a total of 4 points.

Both were very good. The screw job at Penn State cost us two national championships. If we were n/c in 1982, we do not play Miami, in Miami. Additionally, having Gill play freshman football was stupid

Taylor was awesome and a great fit for the option game but I have to go with Gill. I think the better Monday morning QB question would be Frazier, Gill, Crouch or Frost.

Turner was the heart and soul of his teams. He was looked upon for leadership by the rest of his teammates. Remember, he was one completion away from winning a National Championship.

No. We beat Penn State and we would have been able to tell Miami to pound sand. Miami was the only team that could have beaten us. Gill should never have played Freshman football. It cost him a year.

Gill was clearly the better of the two. Taylor was overated but had talent and played hard.

Steve was great but Turner could do it all! He's the best all-around quarterback Nebraska ever had.

Part of the 82 & 83 scoring explosion. Lead a 2nd half comeback in the national championship game falling only inches short. Robbed at Happy Valley in 82. Did Steve ever beat Oklahoma?

Stand corrected. Steve beat Oklahoma in Norman his Sr. year.

Yes. In 1988, 7-3 in Norman. It poured rain the whole game.

Turner was the first real option QB in the Osborne era. He took over as a soph QB in a time of trouble (NU record) and provided the athleticism, QB option capabilities, and strong overall leadership.

Great person and player. Of course, he had a great ensemble in the team too.

Do you think Trev Alberts was correct to push for the coaching staff changes before season end?

It was right to do sooner than later

Should have waited until season was over

The defense has made progress. The offense not so much. The real problem is Frost's dedication to Martinez. Adrian is a great guy, but his minuses exceed his pluses.

The production was there from those coaches. Better to make the decision then, so you can still have a positive impact with recruiting.

I imagine the transfer portal had a lot to do with the timing.

It had to be done and it clear that things are going to happen at NU.

The team was not going to become better with their existing staff. Make the cut and start improving.

If you are not going to make new hires before the end of the season anyway, what was the purpose in firing them now? It will be interesting to see how the offense performs, but I can't see this as beneficial.
