Your secondary and linebackers are only as good as the defensive line. If you cant stop the run consistently and cant get pressure on the quarterback the linebackers & seconday will struggle as well.

We need a solid middle upfront to first stop the run, and then put pressure on the quarterback. This is critical for any defense!

I just think the Safeties will be good no matter what; I'm not so sure about the DT's. Also, the DT's seem to need to be great to succeed in the 2-gap.

Safties have some known commodities but the D-line has to gel to be a dominate D.

Stopping the run and an aggressive pass rush are the prime factors in winning ball games.

It all starts up front. If you can't stop the run, which most teams try to establish first, then the opponent doesn't even need to test your secondary.

You have to stop the run first on teams that run first. Stopping them from passing is a gift.. Fix this and the blow outs stop.

Do you think Trev Alberts was correct to push for the coaching staff changes before season end?

It was right to do sooner than later

Should have waited until season was over

The defense has made progress. The offense not so much. The real problem is Frost's dedication to Martinez. Adrian is a great guy, but his minuses exceed his pluses.

The production was there from those coaches. Better to make the decision then, so you can still have a positive impact with recruiting.

I imagine the transfer portal had a lot to do with the timing.

It had to be done and it clear that things are going to happen at NU.

The team was not going to become better with their existing staff. Make the cut and start improving.

If you are not going to make new hires before the end of the season anyway, what was the purpose in firing them now? It will be interesting to see how the offense performs, but I can't see this as beneficial.
