If no customers are buying from a local business, it's that business's fault for not being competitive enough (i.e. prices too high, poor selection, poor customer service, etc.). Online retailers shouldn't be punished for local businesses being bad at what they do. No customer should want to pay mor

But if a local store has to charge a sales tax and add it to the price of an item they sell' and the online merchant doesn`t have to, that makes the online store be able to sell the item cheaper. Either they both should have to charge the sales tax or neither should have to charge it

Yes, I try to purchase everything locally, but when I have to arm chair shop, it would still benefit our community if it was implemented.
ReplyIf local mom and pop stores have to charge a sales tax, then internet stores should have to charge them too. Or else eliminate sales taxes on all stores. We need a level playing field for our retailers.
ReplyI would prefer to support our local businesses, than Amazon and E-bay. I think Jeff Bezos is a Socialist, and every time you help him, you hurt yourself and your country. Jeff Bezos's net worth is 201.7 billion USD.
