The state of Missouri ranks dead last in teacher pay and state worker pay across the country. State workers, like me, are handed heavy workloads and have immense responsibilities in our work. While I love my job it is drastically overdue for state workers to recieve a raise to retain good employees.
You want services, the LEAST you can do is 1.5 percent below current inflation. They need more than 5.5 or it just kicks the can a few months down the road.
Corrections is the largest dept in the state. Yet they're the second lowest paid corrections dept of every state and has the 8th highest inmate population. They desperately need a raise
Court clerks make on average just minimum wage. Some have 20+ years and not just anyone can step in and do their jobs if they leave. Treating our MoDot like their dispensable is deplorable. They actually risk their lives and take constant training to do their job.
As a state employee I can honestly say it is necessary if they wish for me to continue working for the State of Missouri. It is not a favor to give me a raise, but a requirement at this point. It is long overdue and will not be swept under the rug.
It's time that the public servants of this state had pay commensurate with other states this is why we cannot keep employees. When seasoned long term state workers can go to work at Walmart and make more money it's time to do something about the problem.
Why are the marines any different than any other branch of service that gets deployed in U.S.
As a veteran- I have been deployed for things in U.S. over the years- it’s not just for protecting us in foreign countries
Our oath of office says we will protect foreign and domestic
What do you do when a foreign body rises up on American soil. You make an example out of it. Never understood the waving of other countries flags in these situations. They are sending you back to the country you are so proud of. Im hoping they're treated like armed combatants.
Because someone needs to help cause obviously the government in California don't care . The president is doing all that he can to help . I say if ur illegal you need to leave either willingly or by forcing.
Would you be saying the same thing if Biden had deployed the Marines on Jan 6th? Even the National Guard seems a little over the top, but Newsom is 100% responsible for the chaos. He needs to be held accountable for not supporting ICE and the arrests of the criminals that broke into our country.
This is not an insurrection! The police set their own car on fire from what I heard. These protests were peaceful for the most part until Felon47 got involved. They did cause a lot of damage with the graffiti, but no one was injure bc of it. Maybe Felon47 should have sent 700 Maries like your post o
You heard they destroyed their own police cars. I would suggest you change the place where you get your lies from. They burned they're own cars. Wow. TDS is real.
Not that it may not be warranted, but sets a bad precedence when, not if, a real socialist tricks his/her way into the power and justifies deploying our military against her citizens to 'keep the peace'. I voted for Trump, but lets call 'balls and strikes', he does not get a pass for this behavior.

ReplyYes they should. But it has to be greater than 7% inflation rate (and 7% is a bogus number.)

ReplyState employees are essential to keep the state going. Wages are going up every where the state should follow suit.
ReplyBecause we are one of the lowest paid out of all 50 states and it is hard for us to find or keep good employees at our current salary.
ReplyI am a state employee. 12 is not enough for the work we do
